IQOS ILUMA devices - FAQs

1. First, insert the product into your IQOS ILUMA Holder. Gently push it up to the filter line until your Holder vibrates twice and its lights flash. Heating will start automatically.

2. Your IQOS ILUMA device is ready to use when your Holder vibrates and both lights are solid white.

3. When there’s 30 seconds and 2 uses left, your IQOS ILUMA Holder will vibrate once and a white light will flash.

4. Remove the used product. When it’s fully cooled, dispose of it in a bin.

5. If you have IQOS ILUMA PRIME or IQOS ILUMA device, place your Holder in the Pocket Charger to charge it.

IQOS ILUMA devices are designed to be used with specific product only. Do not use IQOS ILUMA with product made for previous IQOS generation devices. Do not ingest or disassemble the product – it contains a sharp metal part which can cause serious injury if swallowed. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Some features and settings can be turned on or off via the IQOS app such as Autostart, customization features, lock and unlock device.
Place your IQOS ILUMA Holder in the Pocket charger. Press the power button for 10 seconds and release. The lights will turn off and back on again to show the reset is done.
There are two ways to find out.

Check your IQOS ILUMA Holder – lift up your Holder or briefly press the button. The status lights will come on – two lights mean two uses left. One light means one.

Check your Pocket Charger when the Holder is inside – press the power button on your Pocket Charger and see how many status lights turn on. Two lights mean your holder has two uses left, and one light means one.
Checking the battery level of the pocket charger is easy. Simply short press the side button on the pocket charger. The pocket charger lights will turn on to indicate the battery level:
• 4 WHITE lights mean the battery is fully charged
• 3 WHITE lights mean up to 75% battery life remaining
• 2 WHITE lights mean up to 50% battery life remaining
• 1 WHITE light means up to 25% battery life remaining
A flashing yellow light on your IQOS ILUMA Holder means it’s time to recharge.
A flashing white light means your IQOS ILUMA Holder is outside its recommended temperature range of 0-40 °C.
A flashing red light means you need to reset your IQOS ILUMA device. Place the Holder in the Pocket Charger, then reset.
Place your IQOS ILUMA Holder in the Pocket charger. Press the power button for 10 seconds and release. The lights will turn off and back on again to show the reset is done.
Use the IQOS AC Power Adaptor and cable that came with your IQOS ILUMA device. This will give the fastest, safest charge. When charging your device for the first time, it takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to fully charge the Pocket Charger, and 10 minutes for the Holder. After that, average charging times for the Holder are about 2 minutes for one use, and 3.5 minutes for two. All average stated charging times are subject to battery performance degradation and conditions of use.
Yes, as long as they belong to IQOS 3 generation devices. Previous charging accessories will not be compatible with IQOS ILUMA devices.
A new range of advanced features allows you to customize your experience. All are easily managed on the IQOS app.

Autostart – heating starts automatically when you insert the product. Your IQOS ILUMA Holder will vibrate and its lights will flash to show heating has started. When it’s ready to use, your device will vibrate once more. Autostart is already set up on your IQOS ILUMA device, and you can deactivate it on the IQOS app. You can also start heating manually by pressing the button on your IQOS ILUMA Holder.

Smart gestures let you check battery levels or the number of uses left.

To check your Holder's battery levels, lift up your IQOS ILUMA Holder. The status lights will come on that will show the number of heating cycles left. Two lights mean two uses left, and one light means one.

How much of the battery is left? Double tap your IQOS ILUMA holder. Three vibrations mean you have up to 50-75% left. Two mean 25-50%. One means you have 25% or less. You can turn on and customize vibration on the IQOS app.
Your IQOS ILUMA should automatically start heating when you insert the product. If not, try the following actions.

Check it’s the correct product Your IQOS ILUMA device will only work with the new specific product.

Check the product is correctly inserted. It’s the right way in, and pushed up to the filter line.

Check the IQOS app. See if Autostart has not been accidentally deactivated.

Reset your device. Place your IQOS ILUMA Holder in the Pocket Charger. Press the power button for 10 seconds until the lights go out. When the lights flash twice, you’ll know the reset is done.

Remember – you can start your session manually by pressing the button on your holder for 2 seconds. If the problem persists, get in touch or pop into your nearest IQOS store for help.
